Details & Certifications
Alexandre Family Farm

Grass-based dairying is our PASSION. It is our MISSION to farm in harmony with nature, honoring the Earth and all the creatures under our stewardship to make the most delicious, nutrient-rich eggs and dairy products -- and to make God smile while we do it! We have a VISION of passing our healthy farm and farming practices on to our children to care for the land, our animals, and your health for many generations. We VALUE hard work, transparency, faith, nutrition from the soil up, family, caring for our community, and freely sharing our knowledge and experience.

Health has always been our central focus, and it begins with the soil. Our year-round green grasses are a product of well-nurtured soil, where we cultivate a teeming mecca of microorganisms that not only make our pastures healthy and resilient, but result in the form of delicious, nutrient-dense organic milk and eggs.

Our dairy cows and our hens graze open pastures alongside one another – a way of farming that goes beyond organic by looking at the beneficial way animals and ecosystems interact. We call this style of farming ‘holistic management’.

Land to Market

Land to Market is working to heal the planet by restoring its grasslands. We are giving a voice to the land by working with brands to source raw materials, like meat, dairy, wool, and leather, from land that is verified regenerative.

How do these products heal the land?

Regenerative agriculture promotes soil health, biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and water cycle restoration. By purchasing Land to Market verified products from brands that support regenerative agriculture, you can give back to the land upon which we all depend.

USDA Organic

The USDA organic regulations describe organic agriculture as the application of a set of cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that support the cycling of on-farm resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. These include maintaining or enhancing soil and water quality; conserving wetlands, woodlands, and wildlife; and avoiding the use of synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, and genetic engineering.

Organic producers use natural processes and materials when developing farming systems—these contribute to soil, crop, and livestock nutrition, pest and weed management, attainment of production goals, and conservation of biological diversity.

Non-GMO Verified Project

Non-GMO means a product was produced without genetic engineering and its ingredients are not derived from GMOs. Non-GMO Project Verified additionally means that a product is compliant with the Non-GMO Project Standard, which includes stringent provisions for testing, traceability, and segregation. Only Non-GMO Project Verified products are allowed to use the verification mark. Importantly, the mark includes the Project’s URL, where consumers can look up the Standard to better understand what it means.

A verified non-GMO system supports organic and regenerative agriculture by reducing contamination pressure and protecting the supply of non-GMO seed.

Certified Humane

The Certified Humane Raised and Handled® logo assures consumers that:

  • The producer meets our Animal Care Standards and applies them to farm animals, from birth through slaughter.
  • Animals are never kept in cages, crates, or tie stalls. Animals must be free to do what comes naturally. For example, chickens must be able to flap their wings and dust bathe, and pigs must have space to move around and root.
  • Animals must be fed a diet of quality feed, without antibiotics or growth hormones.
  • Compliance with the North American Meat Institute Standards (NAMI), a slaughter standard written by Dr. Temple Grandin, a member of HFAC’s Scientific Committee.

Why we recommend this product

The short answer: This product made it to our curated list because it has achieved certification through well-established and respected organizations with its ingredients sourced from regenerative agriculture. FYI: We are currently establishing a way to list non-certified products with transparency about the farm's regenerative practices.

In depth: We want to support the farmers and brands working hard to restore the health of soils, people, animals, and our planet’s ecosystems with regenerative agriculture. Currently, there is yet to be a single agreed-upon definition or regulatory system for regenerative agriculture. Unfortunately, some brands have capitalized on that lack of agreement with greenwashing.

Starting with curated products that have achieved certifications at well-established and respected organizations [link], we want to make it easier for you as a consumer to understand the differences between the certifications and products so you can choose the ones that align with your values.

We understand that many farms with regenerative practices wish to avoid going through extensive and expensive certification processes, so we are working hard to develop a set of criteria to help get their products listed and allow farmers to connect to our community transparently.

We would love to hear your feedback. What criteria do you want to see in your regenerative products?
